Fibre Rich Food
Food rich in Fibre is recommended as part of a healthy balanced diet. Adult foods should during the day should consist of some kind of fibre as well as fruit and vegetables, proteins etc to provide the body with the vitamins & minerals it needs to sustain health. Fibre foods which come to the mind straight away are breakfast cereals such as brown rice, pasta and brown wholegrain breads. However it’s also said that high fibre diets are unsuitable for young children as they fill up the small tummies leaving little room for other foods. Bran flakes also prevent certain minerals being absorbed so whilst it good to try a variety of foods it’s best avoid only wholegrain till the child is over 5.
