Salt in Food for babies
As with adults with children it’s recommended to cut down on salt or go without salt completely if possible. Baby foods will have to follow strict guidelines on salt content are not permitted to have any added. If you are preparing food for babies you need to avoid it completely as there kidneys are unable to cope with it. When cooking meals its best to leave salt out where possible or take out the babies portion which in turn will allow the baby to share the food and meal. If you are breastfeeding, along with all the other key nutrients the baby will be getting the right amount of salt needed for growth and formulas will have similar amounts to breast milk.
